AIDS Walk Austin - AIDS Walk Austin Party in the Park- Sunday, Oct 20 11:30am to 5:00pm - Republic Square Park, Austin, TX- The Party in the Park takes place at Republic Square Park from 11:30 am until 5:00 pm with live music on The Arise AMC Stage from Reed Turner, Language Room, and Deuce Coupe. Also food trucks from Whole Foods, Blue Basil, Guac N Roll, and Bahama Breeze will keep you fed and hydrated. The DOG FRIENDLY walk begins at 2pm.
Movies in the Park - Ghostbusters - Thursday, October 24 @ 7:30pm - FREE - Moves in the Park is a series of free films brought to you by the Austin Parks Foundation, and presented by the #1 movie theater in America, the Alamo Drafthouse. Each year, APF and the Drafthouse bring you totally free movies right in downtown Austin at Republic Square Park. Austin residents and visitors bring their blanket or lawn chairs (and often a picnic dinner!) for a fun and relaxing evening under the beautiful Austin night sky.
Dogs, picnics, and lawn chairs are welcome. Alcoholic beverages, glass and styrofoam are not permitted in the park. We do provide recycling bins, but ask that you help us out by packing out all of your own trash. Smoking is also prohibited in the park, per city law.
Texas Book Festival - Sunday, Oct 27 11:00am to 5:00pm + more times - The Texas Book Festival is free and open to the public and takes place in Austin, Texas at the State Capitol and surrounding grounds. This exciting annual literary event features more than 250 authors, live music, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, the return of the popular Lit Crawl Austin event, concessions, and more.

AIA Homes Tour - The weekend of November 2-3, 2013, AIA Austin is holding its 27th annual Homes Tour, which showcases 11 new and newly-renovated homes from across the Austin area. The two-day self-guided tour celebrates the diverse and stunning design talent of Austin’s local architects, with both traditional and contemporary designs that span from modest to means. The 27th Annual AIA Homes Tour is a showcase of great design by Central Texas architects. The homes range in style from traditional to contemporary, all with innovative design elements to delight and inspire tour attendees. Tickets go on sale October 1st and are $35 in advance and $40 the weekend of the tour.
The Texas Renaissance Festival - Weekends - October 12-December 1 - An interactive theme park that embraces different eras, including the 16th century and beyond. The 55-acre theater is filled with live entertainment, food, fun and professional actors who stay true to character for eight themed weekends in October and November.
