11th Annual Bat Fest – Saturday, August 22nd - 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerging from under the bridge at dusk, 3 stages with live music, more than 75 arts & crafts vendors, delicious food and drinks, fun children’s activities, a bat costume contest and other bat activities.
Hot Sauce Festival - Sunday, August 23 - The event is a favorite among hot and spicy food lovers from all over the country. The Hot Sauce Festival also serves as a major fundraiser for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. Last year's Festival raised over 45,300 meals for the Austin area in a six hour period!
Free Composting Class - Texas Farmers Market at Mueller - Sunday, August 23 - 10:30 - 11:30a - The Home Composting Rebate Program supports Austin’s Zero Waste goal by educating residents about how to keep food scraps, yard trimmings and food-soiled paper out of the landfill.
