Fun Fun Fun Fest - Friday, November 6 - Sunday, November 8 - Auditorium Shores
With a cross section of the progressive and underground music section, FFFX brings all sorts to Austin. Pre-order for tickets is already over, but you can still make the festival on “Will call” status on festival days.
Austin Celtic Festival - Saturday, November 7 - Sunday, November 8 12:00 PM - 7:30 PM - Fiesta Gardens
Celebrate Celtic ancestry with music, dancing, history and sport. This festival was even nominated in 2012 by Austin Chronicle as Best in Austin. Click on the link above to purchase tickets before October 31.
Snout by Snoutwest - Sunday, November 8 - 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Jewish Community Center Soccer Fields
Doggie pools, pet photos, and obedience demonstrations round out this dog-friendly event. Barkitecture also makes an appearance, showing off some truly outrageous dog houses. Tickets and Doggie Derby registration sales benefit Hounds for Heroes.
25th Annual Fossil Fest - Saturday, November 14 - Sunday, November 15 - Old Settler’s Heritage Association (Round Rock)
This low cost, kid-friendly event is a great way to earn some extra credit in school or just check out some local fossils. Head out to Round Rock, TX across the street from Dell Diamond to see the real Jurassic World.
Last Comic Standing - Friday, November 20 - 9:30 PM - One World Theatre
Your favorite new comics from July’s Last Comic Standing are challenged to make America laugh on tour. Previous alums Kathleen Maddigan, Ralphie May, and Josh Blue are scheduled to make an appearance. Booking is available until opening night.
Turkey Trot - Thursday, November 26 - The Long Center
Thundercloud Subs, in addition to making sandwiches so good you’ll bolt them down (heh), has been supporting Caritas of Austin for 25 years now with this Thanksgiving Day run. Registration is open until the day of the race if you want to participate. Of course, spectators are always welcome. There WILL be road closures for this event, so keep an eye out!
