Shady Hollow Homes

Find your way to far South Brodie Lane and drive into a South Austin staple and longtime residential favorite, Shady Hollow. Old Shady Hollow was established over 40 years ago as a country suburb and has been developing rapidly since 1978. The country has grown into the city (or the other way around) and Shady Hollow still stands out as a laid back, tree dense area for long-time residents and young families. The area was planned with amenities but lacks that ‘master planned community’ feel, a big draw for some residents. Austin Texas Realtors who know the area say that in Shady Hollow the homes have ‘good bones’ and are easy to update for modern cosmetic design. Shared community areas include a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, several parks, nature trails, and strategically placed playscapes. Moments away from shaded streets you will find Slaughter and Brodie Lane and all of the shopping, dining, and other service outlets provided there.

Discover some of the best Tex-Mex in the area at Maudie’s Hacienda south location and Austin original, Tres Amigos. The Slab Shack boasts ‘excellent’ reviews from long-time Austin residents and patrons. The Veloway dedicated bike and roller blade trail is a short drive down Slaughter Lane. Easy access to both Mopac (to the west) and IH 35 (to the east) makes travelling to work accessible. 10 miles from downtown Austin with an approximately 15-20 minute commute (depending on traffic conditions), Shady Hollow provides prime south Austin real estate, reputable schools, and ample recreation opportunities with the character of Austin built in.

Johnny (Henion) represented us in the sale of our old home. We were very nervous about the length of time it could take to sell and how to price the house. Johnny was prepared with neighborhood data and recommendations to help get the process rolling. Once an offer arrived, we found ourselves with a very high maintenance buyer. After five rounds of negotiations on the contract, we headed to inspections. When our inspection turned up an issue in the yard, Johnny was there with shovel in hand to help us determine the problem. The option period negotiations again took several rounds, with Johnny provided the voice of reason as we got frustrated. When closing delayed, he was there again with reassurances that the issues would get resolved. Johnny kept a sense of humor, perspective and our end goals in mind throughout the process and everything worked out. We would highly recommend Johnny and his team! We will certain work with Johnny again, if we ever decide to move! - Stephanie H,
